Reduce Snoring

December 27th, 2008 by heart_health

Since the first anti snoring device was invented many years ago, there have been over three hundred devices invented including the innovative tennis ball in a sock, which prevented people from sleeping on their backs. There are, all the same, other devices which emit irritating stimuli whenever a person snores. The issue lies in the abnormality of the airway, because a free flow of air is needed to facilitate regular breathing.

Snoring Cure

It may be that some individuals consider snoring as a non-serious condition but in fact, the opposite is true. Long term health problems including obstructive sleep apnea and being deprived of normal comfortable sleep are found in people who suffer from snoring. And anyway, this usually results in embarrassment and often affects an individual’s sleep.

Stop Snoring

But, obstructive sleep apnea, is a different situation, where snoring is continuously being interrupted because there is a complete obstruction of breathing to the patient. Each episode averages ten seconds in length, and since they can occur at least seven times per hour, anywhere between thirty and three hundred episodes can happen each night. Episodes like this will reduce oxygen levels in the blood, forcing the heart to work overtime. Immediate effects include a forced light sleep so that he may keep his muscles in tensed state which helps facilitate a regular flow of air in the lungs but then results in unrelaxed rest. If a person is not sleeping well or suffers from sleep disorders that keep them from sleeping, it could lead to many other medical issues.

Snoring Treatments

Snoring usually concerns the tissues involved in breathing but there are a couple of reasons why the air passage is narrow, which is itself, a good contributor to problem snoring. This may be due to enlarged tonsils, elongated soft palate and thick soft palate, and abnormality in the tissues at the back of the throat which can all cause obstruction in the airway. Anything that overly relaxes the muscles of the throat can contribute to snoring. Alcohol is a sedative that can create that effect. Disruptive snoring can be caused by regularly drinking alcohol near bedtime.

More often than not, snoring is associated with obstructive sleep apnea so it is best that you are properly diagnosed so that the correct treatment can be prescribed. It has not been ruled out that snoring is inherited, and that biological factors may be a reason for the constriction on your throat. The underlying part of the nose, termed to as the bridge is the nasal septum and when this partition is quite crooked or there is any nasal congestion due to this, snoring will occur.

The one solution and most permanent cure to snoring is a surgical procedure. If you frequently snore, see a doctor. Snoring may not be the result of a life-threatening condition, but the condition may become more severe over time.

The Memory Pillow - For A Great Nights Sleep

December 25th, 2008 by heart_health

Not too many years ago we began learning about memory foam mattresses. Most of us saw commercials and advertisements and decided that we needed just what the mattresses could offer, complete and total comfort! We all wanted a mattress that would conform to the contours of our body. Not surprisingly, shortly later memory pillows hit the market. The pillows are made from the same foam compound that the memory foam mattresses are. This foam is almost gel-like and it will not only support your head and neck but it also provides a luxurious cushion. Memory foam pillows come in a variety of shapes and sizes, each with a unique purpose. From travel pillows to bed pillows you will find the exact style you need available. Memory foam pillows are available in varying densities. You can find some with as low as 2.5 pounds per cubic foot or as high as 5.3 pounds per cubic foot. Most people find that a mid-range density is preferable for a pillow. These memory pillows offer so much more than mere comfort. Although most memory foam pillows are bought because they offer unmatched comfort new owners soon realize that there are many advantages to using the foam pillows. Many people start their love affair with these pillows through the purchase of a memory foam travel pillow. These pillows come in a U-shape or the more traditional rectangular shape. The U-shape can be wrapped around your neck which will prevent your head from falling over to the side but at the same time the small bones of your face will be supported. The result is a comfortable sleep without cricks or neck pain when you wake up. Few would argue that any pillow that can make a nap on a plane or in a car pleasant, has to be a great pillow. That is why most people that start with a travel memory pillow decide to purchase pillows for their bed as well. Because the pillows are perfectly designed to provide cervical support you can be sure you will get a good nights rest. This type of pillow has extra support under the neck area and a deeper depression where the head rests. This helps to keep the neck in alignment with the spine. Getting restful sleep that is comfortable can make a difference in how you feel all day. Not only will you wake up feeling fresh and rejuvenated, but you are less likely to be bothered with upper back pain and or neck pain.

Read About Super Foods - What’s The Truth? The Simple Answer.

December 22nd, 2008 by heart_health

What are “super foods”…and why should I care? You might as well ask a similar question: “What is clean air…and is it really important”? The answers to both questions are the same.

Most often referred to as “quality of life”; and if by taking a few simple steps you could dramatically improve that quality, wouldn’t it be kind of silly to ignore those very steps?

If you live in an area that frequently announces the daily “air quality index” and frequently advises “staying indoors—in a ‘hepa filtered environment’” your options there may already be limited. You can uproot your family and “head for the hills” or a more rural environment; or, you can accept the prospect of ongoing respiratory ills.

If breathing is not your problem, but a healthy diet is, the answers there may be a simple as a trip to the farmer’s market. (With Google’s help, of course) Do a quick search for “super foods”.

Do several searches as I did, and you will eventually end up with the “basic lists of 14″ plus the one that includes CHOCOLATE–dark chocolate, but chocolate none-the-less.

Modern dietary research recommends 14 different, nutrient-dense foods, that very strongly promote good overall health. Coined “superfoods,” they tend to be lower in calories, higher in levels of vitamins and minerals, and to contain many disease-fighting antioxidants.

A diet built primarily, though not necessarily exclusively, around these super foods virtually guarantees a rapid improvement in your quality of life…improved digestion, higher energy levels, lowered blood pressure, the list goes on; but you get the idea.

And just what are these “mysterious, exotic” super foods, you ask?

(1) Beans—Practically any legume fits the bill.

(2) Berries—All are good; blueberries are best.

(3) Broccoli—No surprise here.

(4) Green Tea—Would Oprah lie to you?

(5) Nuts—Walnuts leading the list.

(6) Oranges—And almost all citrus fruits.

(7) Pumpkin—Pie anyone?

(8) Salmon—The wilder the better. Farms are for cows.

(9) Soy—May need to re-think this one; but I may be the only “tofu-phobe” on the planet.

(10) Spinach—Mom and Popeye were right all along.

(11) Tomatoes—You say tomahto…I say tomato.

(12) Turkey—It’s not just for Thanksgiving any more.

(13) Whole grains and oats—The more grains the better.

(14) Yogurt—An acquired taste. Personally, I’m still acquiring.

(15) CHOCOLATE—Dark, but still CHOCOLATE!

Did I mention CHOCOLATE?

And just what improvements to my quality of life can I expect from such “super foods”?
They warrant a list of their own:

(A) Lowered blood pressure.

(B) Diabetes—Reversed and/or controlled

(C) Alzheimer’s—Reduced or eliminated.

(D) Energy levels—Increased.

(E) Mood Swings—A thing of the past.

(F) Fatigue—Delayed till bedtime

(G) Bone and muscles—Improved tone and function

(H) Immune System—Strengthened

(I) Spirits—Watch thenm soar when you fit into your clothes again.

Superfoods can be the basis of a sound, healthy, nutritious lifestyle. Two weeks, or less, will be all the proof you need.

Powder Free Latex And Vinyl Gloves, Incontinence Products And Disposable Plastic Aprons

December 12th, 2008 by heart_health

When you have a situation where a much loved member of your family or elderly relative can no longer look after themselves then it can be hard. There are often a number of issues that can result in a person needing to be taken into care or that make them eligible to receive home care. These problems can often be a result of old age in the sense that their motor skills aren’t what they used to be and they struggle with every day tasks like going to the loo. Sometimes the problem can be that the motor skills are fully functiona but the brain is beginning to fail, this can be because of diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, which often lead to confusion and uncontrollable outbursts. If you want to give someone the nursing care they require then you either have the option of trying to find the funds for it by selling any assets you may have or by asking for some sort of financial assistance.

Caring for the elderly whether in a care home or at your home requires a great amount of various types of medical supplies. These tend to be sold in bulk form, from a wholesale health supplier. These places will be able to supply you with most of the equipment that you need such as wholesale latex gloves, Incontinence Products and disposable plastic aprons. These are the type of health products that you will be getting in frequently to clean up as well as reduce mess and to help stop the spread of diseases.

Plastic Aprons are found to be incredibly useful when taking care of the elderly. They are a must for people that have limited motor skills and have difficulty feeding themselves. There are wide types of plastic aprons for sale from disposable aprons to reusable plastic aprons. They can also be stored in a number of ways from cardboard dispensers to flat packs and rolls.

There are different types of glove available for various tasks and they come in a wide range of materials as people can often have allergies to materials like vinyl. You also find that some gloves contain powder where as others do not and these are known as powder free gloves. Powder is often put into gloves to make them easier to don if the task you are performing means that your hands are damp. Powdered gloves have become less popular in the medical industry than powder free ones as the powder can sometimes cause problems when performing tasks like surgery. This has meant that more surgical institutions have now started using Powder Free Gloves for surgery as they are a lot safer to use when you are working with wounds.

High Blood Pressure - Natural Treatments Are Possible

October 14th, 2008 by heart_health

High blood pressure, or hypertension, is much more common than you may imagine. It’s estimated that around 40% of adults in the UK and approximately a third of adults in the USA have hypertension.

Blood pressure is defined as the pressure which is placed upon the walls of the arteries as blood passes through them. It is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) and is normally represented by two numbers.

Systolic pressure is the pressure which is present whilst the heart beats and blood is being pumped around the body. This is usually the first number given and is the higher of the two numbers.

Diastolic pressure is the pressure measured when the heart is resting between beats. This is the second number and is the lower of the two values.

So when a doctor or nurse advises you that your blood pressure is “120 over 80”, or you see 120/80 mmHg written in your medical report, it means that your systolic pressure is 120 millimetres of mercury and your diastolic pressure is 80 millimetres of mercury.

High blood pressure is normally defined as having a sustained blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg or higher – although this definition may vary in some countries.

Often there are no signs of high blood pressure and it may go undetected. It is frequently noticed during routine medical examination or as a consequence of testing due to some other ailment. It is a serious risk factor in the onset of cardiovascular disease – conditions which may affect the circulation of blood around the body, e.g. stroke, heart disease etc.

When you have hypertension, your heart needs to work more to force the blood around your body. Over time this increased strain can weaken your heart. The additional pressure can also damage the walls of the arteries, which may result in a blockage or cause the artery to split – a haemorrhage. Either of these conditions might result in a stroke.

There is no single identifiable cause for increased blood pressure in 95% of cases. However, the available evidence shows that, in addition to age, lifestyle factors play a crucial role in dictating your blood pressure. Excessive alcohol consumption, poor diet, lack of exercise, smoking and obesity are just some of the known risk factors.

Clearly medication exists which can help reduce your blood pressure – but, as with any medication there can be side effects and there will always be some unlucky patients who do not respond to drugs. Modifications to your lifestyle, like eating a healthier diet, taking regular exercise, cutting your alcohol intake, quitting smoking and losing some weight can be very effective in improving your blood pressure.

Many people might also find meditation, self hypnosis and other relaxation exercises to be of benefit. In addition to these more conventional methods, recent clinical evidence shows that paced breathing, guided by electronically controlled cues triggered by bio feedback can quickly yield sustainable reductions in blood pressure levels. FDA approved equipment such as resperate are now freely available to hypertension sufferers and offer an clinically proven drug free treatment.

In summary, hypertension is more common than you may realise and, due to its lack of visible symptoms, you should have your blood pressure checked by a medical professional on a regular basis.

If you do find that you have high blood pressure then you will be able to improve the situation by making some relatively simple lifestyle changes. Even if you are prescribed drugs then the lifestyle modifications will be effective and many will have other health benefits as well.

Peyronie’s Disease Treatments

October 7th, 2008 by heart_health

Straightening the penis using a traction device is one method of dealing Peyronie’s disease. Research has been completed exploring the efficacy of new and controversial treatments such as traction devices.

Sizegenetics

This unique and exclusive traction device, which is a key part of the SizeGenetics effective penis enhancement program, works by forcing the penis tissue to expand instead of retracting and results in increased curviture of the penis.
Studies have shown that with regular usage of the SizeGenetics device the men where able to keep their original size of their penis or even gain some size.

Testing is still on going, but initial testing and studies have found that the traction device is an alternative to surgery, doesn’t require injecting different substances into the plaque, and that the device is safe and effective.

The SizeGenetics device can also be used as an adjunct of surgery. While surgical intervention removes the plaque that had formed on the penis, it also triggers a shortening of the penis as the tissues located around the former plaque zone are no longer of the same length as the rest of the shaft.

In the penile shaft these forces will make the tissues expand and assume the same length as others while using the traction device SizeGentics. Thus, men who have chosen surgery in order to rid themselves of Peyronie’s disease have a chance to prevent penile shortening.

The package of SizeGenetics includes a PenisHealth free membership, it features program exercises to minimize penis curvature caused byPeyronie’s disease. We will teach you the fundamentals of lengthening and widening your penis, fixing curvatures, staying power and sexual health that will bring you and your partner pleasure to last a life-time.

Rebuild Your Vision Quickly In 5 Phases

September 28th, 2008 by heart_health

I know you have heard of countless conflicting information on rebuilding your vision. Particular individuals will advise you that it’s not even viable, although others will show you that exercise alone is the solution to sharpened vision.

I am not going to add more presumption into what you have known. I am going to recount to you my experience on the subject of rebuilding vision. After 15 years of wearing spectacles, I at long last rebuilt my vision approximately 2 years. ago.

Now, I have experimented with them all. I have experimented with relaxation,I have experimented with exercises, I have experimented with nutrition and I have experimented with… vision habits. Here is what I can tell you: Just like remedying eczema, not any of these system will work out independently of each other.

You should use them in conjunction of each other!

That is what I have realized in my experience to rebuild my vision.

So here are what I did.

1. I drastically lessen the amount of time I wear my glasses and switch it with a pin-hole glasses in its place. Glasses hurt your eyes and weaken vision in the long term.

2. I make it a point to sun habitually to aid me rest my eyes. Sunning is an exceptionally uncomplicated method that quickly relaxes your eyes and it’s one of the finest rebuild your vision method.

3. I learned a number of beneficial vision habits like centralizing and blinking by intentionally practicing them for as long as I remember. These habits do call for some time to learn but if you execute it faithfully, you will soon find yourself doing it involuntarily.

4.I supplement my previously nourishing eating habits with natural vitamin A and lutein. Keep in mind that carrots contain beta carotene, not vitamin A itself but it’s converted into vitamin A by your body. It would be best if you can attain vitamin A in preference to beta carotene.

5. I execute the vision exercises as told in the rebuild your vision program faithfully.

All these may well seem like a great deal ofof effort but it’s not. The learning process actually takes larger amount of time than performing it.

The most critical ingredient is to continue performing it andyou will observe certain outcome in 30 days.

Now, I know this is an sweeping statement of the techniques I am talking about but if you intend to find out more in depth explanation of the techniques I talked about, you can check out my blog at Rebuild Your Vision Naturaly.
