Effortlessly Do Away With Cravings With Green Smoothie Drinks

February 24th, 2010 by heart_health

I’m convinced that it’s not too far off to suggest that having just green smoothies can supply nearly everything that the human body demands to stay healthy. Short of perhaps Vitamin D and Vitamin B12, personally I think, these drinks have everything (yes, even protein). The worst part for me when I started off on the smoothies were the unhealthy cravings. Learn about how I conquered themfor good.

I would like to begin by telling you that this information is just my opinion based on information I have read from expert authors and from more than a decade of living and eating the way I have on a daily basis. Couple that with my twice a year blood work that shows zero deficiencies, I feel that this information is valid. Possible it just works for me, my body type and genetics, I can’t say for certain. But, just like smoking tobacco definitely will have an affect on each of us with various degrees of health negatives, the green smoothie diet, I feel, definitely will have an affect on each of us with various degrees of health positives. Try it and see, after you speak with your natural, or other, health practitioner first of course.

The human body was designed to be able to heal naturally right? Why are people always sick then? Maybe it’s an inaccurate statement, and the body is not equipped to heal itself? No! The problem is that people a) do not give the body with the proper amount of tools, usually in terms of food intake, it needs to heal itself and b) we attack our body with things that hinder the operation of the limited number of essential resources that we actually do give it.

I’m a big advocate of the raw food lifestyle. To say that adding heat to foods beyond a specific temperature destroying required enzymes that are important for assimilation makes plenty of sense to me. Further, it is suggested that to get the most out of our foods that we should chew it until it’s gone. We have troubles digesting big morsels of food. Also, I feel that humans can survive off of a diet of largely fruits and dark green vegetables, with of course some healthy fats. Healthy fats in the form of avocados, soaked nuts and seeds is all I generally consume.

The main meals I consume every single day are composed of lots of raw fruits and greens in the form of green smoothies. Being in a liquid form, my body does a great job of assimilating the nutrients.

A giant hurdle for some people when switching diets, and a big one for me is handling cravings for unhealthy foods. Like a person that is addicted to alcohol or drugs must go through a detox in order to heal, we pretty much must to do a similar thing. The cells in our body are comprised of stuff from the food that we have consumed in the past. The body usually craves much of the same unhealthy foods that contribute to the contents of the individual sick cells in our body. With a drug detox, often times, dry sauna therapy is used to sweat out the drugs. That generally helps eliminate the physical cravings allowing the person an improved chance of staying sober. For us, adjusting our eating habits will enhance the elimination of toxic foods as well which can be naturally removed in stool, perspiration and perhaps urine. But, we may still having cravings for those foods while some of the toxins in our cells are still there.

I find that right away after having the first swallow of my smoothie my own cravings for salt, greasy foods, sugar, etc began to drop off. After I was finished drinking the smoothie, the cravings vanished completely and I would be fulfilled. The problem then was that the cravings would come back as I became hungry. So I started to make certain I was on top of it and would have another smoothie prepared before the cravings would come back, or not too long after they began. The cravings eventually subsided for good as I became healthier. Then I started to crave greens instead!

The question I have now is, do you wish to stay unhealthy and overweight or do you want to have a look at a better diet giving your body everything that it needs?
