Have you suffered with anxiety like millions of other Americans? Anxiety attacks can happen at home or at work. It can appear as a heart attack or an oppsessive compulsive behavior. These attacks can interupt your college studies, business activities or relationships with those you love. It is so important to stop anxiety attacks in the first stage of the illness and not let it escalate into something more serious.
Some of the manifestations of anxiety are severe headaches, stomach disorders, severe chest pains, disproportionate worry, agitation and more. You can stop anxiety attacks with the help of your family doctor. The doctor will administer various tests to distiguish whether you have a real physical illness or if you could be experiencing anxiety attacks.
Scientists have been looking into the reasons for anxiety disorders. Some believe it could be a genetically inherited disease, results of a post traumatic disorder, or due to abnormal brain chemistry.
Geneticists believe that a person’s family history can determine a lot of what types of illnesses they may be susceptible to. Neurotransmitters in the brain send chemical messages from one nerve cell to another. Correct flow can be intreupted by inordinate amounts of certain chemicals in the brain. Environmental changes can also trigger anxiety symptoms. Going through stressful situations such as the death of someone very close, divorce or being in the military can all be contributing factors that worsen anxiety.
You may have experienced a nervous stomach during a stressful situation but an anxiety attack is another story. A true anxiety attack can make the sufferer feel like they are having a heart attack to the point that they will have difficulty breathing and severe chest pains. Before someone has definitively been diagnosed with this disorder they will have often times visited the emergency room on several occasions thinking they have a heart condition.
Once you know you have suffered an anxiety attack you should entreat the help of a medical expert. You will quickly discover that without professional help to stop anxiety attacks you will not be able to perform your daily tasks in the workplace or at home.
