Why Doing A Full Body Detox Is Important These Days
April 23rd, 2010 by heart_health
By now you must have heard a lot about body cleanse detox. From different methods to benefits, you can find information on it from various media. For sure, too, one or more of your friends have told you about it. With so much talk going on about it, it begins to sound like it’s really complicated. However, it is not.
Our bodies have built-in cleansing mechanisms. They are composed of various organs making up systems. One example is the excretory system. This system helps in flushing out waste materials produced by normal biological processes, including metabolism. Involved organs are the kidneys and the liver. Also included is the largest organ we have: the skin.
But over the years our surroundings have significantly changed. The dawn of industrialization practically caused such changes. Factories are pumping toxic gases into the air and harmful chemicals into the water. Even fumes from cars, buses and other vehicles worsen air pollution.
What we eat has also changed. Most fruits and vegetables are sprayed with fertilizers and insecticides. Cows, pigs, chicken and other livestock are supplied with drugs for improved meat quality. Processed food items line rows of aisles in grocery stores. No matter where you look, greasy fast food is readily available!
All these toxins around us put a lot of burden on our excretory system. Soon enough it will begin to work inefficiently. The amount of toxins it can get rid of is simply overpowered by what it receives daily. And this is where the real problem begins to happen.
Accumulation of toxins within our bodies manifests itself through different health problems. The skin becomes dull and lifeless, often marred by blemishes. Waistlines becomes bigger as food cravings go out of hand. Headaches, irritability and fatigue also become daily staples. And worst of all, susceptibility to some diseases increase, like arthritis, diabetes and some cancers.
With this the case, it is through detoxification that trapped toxins in the body can be effectively rid of. There are different detoxifying techniques. Some allow only intake of fresh juices. Some prohibit consumption of cooked food. There are also some which necessitate enemas, colonics and other similar processes.
Even if you don’t subscribe to a specific detoxification method, you can help rid your body of too much waste products. For instance, you can switch to eating organically-grown fruits and veggies. Restricting your intake of meat and meat items will spare your digestive tract of too much of a burden as they’re harder to digest.
Quit smoking and drinking alcohol. Increase your intake of water daily to hydrate you, and at the same time speed up the elimination of accumulated toxins. Exercising too will lend a helping hand in the detoxification process. It will cleanse the body through sweating, and it will help you shed those unwanted pounds as well.
The benefits of undergoing a body cleanse are evident after some time. Your skin will have that certain healthy glow to it. You will shed excess pounds and have more energy all day. And there are plenty more. It may take some time getting used to a body cleanse detox, but it’s well worth it in the end.
